First of all, I would like to thank EBVS secretariat Areti Kesisoglou and EBVS Chief Executive Officer Dimitris Raptopoulos for all the hard work and support they have given me once again this year. A warm thanks as well to all EBVS Executive Committee members and Board members who represent the EBVS Colleges.

Much of this past year’s activities as Secretary have been centered around communications and liaisoning with the EBVS Communications Committee. Our diplomate survey, via SurveyMonkey, just one of several initiatives regarding communication, was a huge success and I would like to thank Olli Peltoniemi and the other communications committee members for an excellent job! Read more about the survey results ...

Along with Linda Horspool, we have also implemented several changes to the EBVS website. Read more...

As reported last year, the issue of Brexit is being closely followed by the EBVS. Board member Amanda Boag is part of the RCVS Task force for Brexit. She has kindly agreed to keep EBVS updated. Read more ...

The EBVS Executive Committee held meetings almost every month in 2017: three face-to-face meetings in Brussels, one in October 2016, one in January 2017 and one on April 19 prior to the 2017 AGM, and 7 Skype meetings for the rest of the year. The summary minutes of these meetings are available to all EBVS Diplomates after logging in to the members section of the EBVS website.

As in past years, the Executive Committee has divided up representation at external meetings during 2016-2017. FVE and UEVP meetings were attended by EBVS President Dominiek Maes, VetCEE meetings by Dominiek Maes or Jimmy Saunders, ECCVT meetings by Dominiek Maes, Stephen May, Jimmy Saunders and the CEO, EAEVE and American Board of Veterinary Specialization meetings by Laura Kramer.
