Dr. Oropeza-Moe received her veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (Foundation), Germany in 2006 and a PhD in biotechnology (”Production of hA20-transgenic pigs by somatic cell nuclear transfer for xenotransplantation research”) from the same university in 2009. She worked one year at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), Department of Basic Sciences and Aquatic Medicine in Oslo on an in ex vivo method (everted sleeve) for measuring nutrient uptake by isolated intestinal tissue sleeves from salmon after incubation in solutions containing antinutritive factors in soybean. Since 2011, she has been employed at NMBU (Department of Production Animal Clinical Sciences) as an associate professor focusing on teaching and research within porcine health management. She enrolled in a standard recidency programme at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences in 2011. She passed the ECPHM qualifying exams in 2018.
