Maciej Guzera graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in 2010. He continued his education at the doctorate level at the Division of Animal Pathophysiology under the supervision of Professor Anna Winnicka. As a PhD student, he combined his academic commitments with working in a veterinary practice. He pursued his postgraduate education as a Senior Clinical Training Scholar in Clinical Pathology at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge. Having finished his residency, he continued working in the same institution as a Clinical Veterinarian in Clinical Pathology. After obtaining the diploma of European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ECVCP) in 2017, he returned to Poland and started his employment at LABOKLIN. His main areas of interest include cytology, haematology and clinical chemistry of companion animals, in particular application of advanced methods (i.e. flow cytometry and lymphocyte clonality assay) for diagnosis of haematological neoplasia. He participated in multiple research projects and is an author of several publications in peer-reviewed journals.
