Dr Hodgkiss-Geere graduated from the Royal ‘Dick’ School of Veterinary Studies (RDSVS), Edinburgh, UK in 2006 with Distinction. During her veterinary degree, Dr Hodgkiss-Geere intercalated and undertook a full time Master of Science by Research in virology. Upon qualifying Dr Hodgkiss-Geere entered full time mixed practice in rural Staffordshire where her interest in Cardiopulmonary medicine initially developed. Following mixed practice, she entered small animal practice prior to returning to the RDSVS to undertake a PhD in Canine Adult Stem Cells, with a particular interest in Cardiac and Mesenchymal stem cells. Following the PhD Dr Hodgkiss-Geere became a Senior Clinical Training Scholar in Cardiopulmonary Medicine, again at the RDSVS, undertaking the ECVIM-CA Diploma in Cardiology which was awarded in 2015. Dr Hodgkiss-Geere is currently Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Cardiology at the University of Liverpool and is a European and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Cardiology. She splits her time between Cardiology clinics and teaching/research including ongoing stem cell work and investigations into pericardial diseases
