Professor Doina Danes
DVM, PhD
Graduated at the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest (USAMVB), Romania (1981). Start as poultry industry veterinarian, certified as scientific researcher (1988) ; from 1989 till present teaching activity to the USAMVB in Infectious Diseases Chair; PhD defended in1999. From 2005 designated as “doctoral supervisor”. Member and/or leader of national and international research projects in the diagnosis and control of infectious diseases, and for training of laboratory staff.
Subjects of interest: clinical microbiology, diagnostic algorithms, emerging veterinary pathogens/one health approach, antimicrobial resistance, infectious diseases control.

- corresponding Member of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences„Gheorghe Ionescu Sisesti”
- member (or leading) expert groups of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (NSVSA) on infectious disease topics (Avian Influenza, African Swine Fever, Peste de Petits Ruminants, Newcastle Disease)
- president of the Scientific Council of NSVSA.
