The primary objectives of the ECVN are to advance veterinary neurology in Europe and increase the competency of those who practice in this field by

• Establishing guidelines for post-graduate education and experience prerequisite to become a specialist in the discipline of veterinary neurology
• Examining veterinarians as specialists in veterinary neurology
• Encouraging research and other contributions to knowledge relating to the pathogenesis, diagnosis, therapy, prevention and the control of diseases directly or indirectly affecting the nervous system of animals, and
• Remaining as a non-profit organisation that does not pursue commercial interests.
