Prof Gualtiero Gandini
DVM, PhD, DipECVN
Dr Gandini graduated at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Bologna in 1990, cum laude. He was awarded a PhD (Dottore di Ricerca) in veterinary internal medicine in 1996 and became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Neurology (Dip.ECVN) in 2003 after an alternate residency programme in veterinary neurology, under the supervision of Prof. André Jaggy - University of Bern (CH) (1998-2002). Dr Gandini is currently employed as full professor at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences of the University of Bologna (Italy), headed the Education committee (2006-2012) and the Degree Programme in veterinary Medicine (2015-2021) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Bologna, Italy.
He has lectured at more than 150 national and international continuing education courses and seminars and has been an invited speaker on topics in neurology at around 30 national and international congresses. Dr Gandini is an author or co-author of more than 100 scientific publications, 67 of which are in peer reviewed international journals.
Dr Gandini is currently (from December 2022) president of the European College of veterinary Neurology (ECVN).
was member of the Executive Committee of the European Society of Veterinary Neurology (ESVN) from 2000-2012 and also served on the Executive Committee of the ECVN. He was president of the ESVN and ECVN from 2008-2010.
