October 22nd, 1981: Degree in Veterinary Medicine (110/110 cum laude and special mention for the thesis.
June 1983 - May 1985 Recipient of a fellowship from Regione Piemonte, at the Department of Animal Pathology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Torino (Italy).
September/October 1984: Research visitor at the Royal Veterinary College of London (UK).
November 1984: Beginning of the PhD program in Comparative Pathology of Domestic Animals at the Department of Animal Pathology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Torino (Italy) on pathogenesis of canine distemper virus.
January 1985: Continuation of the PhD program at the Institute of Animal Neurology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Bern (Switzerland).
October 1988: Conclusion of the PhD program and dissertation of PhD thesis.
July 1990: Appointed as Research Assistant at the Department of Animal Pathology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Torino (Italy).
May - October 1993: Recipient of a fellowship from the Italian National Reasearch Council at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology of the University of Georgia - Athens (USA), involved in a research project concerning the expression of immunomodulatory factors in the porcine uterus, their biological identities and biochemical properties.
October 1994 – October 1997: Appointed as Contract Professor in "Wild Animal Pathology" at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Padova (Italy).
February 1996: Recipient of a fellowship from the Italian National Reasearch Council at the Department of Farm Animal and Equine Medicine and Surgery of the Royal Veterinary College of the University of London (UK), involved in a research project concerning the evaluation of the immunity of the genital tract in cattle and sheep.
February 1999: Recipient of a fellowship from the Italian National Research Council at the Department of Agriculture of Northern Ireland - Veterinary Sciences Division, Stormont-Belfast (UK), involved in a research project on wild boar tuberculosis.
From November 1999: Appointed as Associate Professor at the Department of Animal Pathology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Torino (Italy).
From November 2005: Appointed as Straordinary Professor at the Department of Animal Pathology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Torino (Italy).
From November 2008: Appointed as Full Professor at the Department of Animal Pathology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Torino (Italy).
June 2009: Recipient of a contract from Pan Livestock Services Ltd (UK) and Nuffic (Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education – The Netherlands) for cooperation and development at the Faculty of veterinary Medicine of the University of Gondar (Ethiopia), for teaching Veterinary Pathology, and installation of a laboratory of histopathology.
February 2012: Recipient of a contract from Edulink for cooperation and development at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Nagounderè (Cameroun) for teaching General Pathology and Veterinary Pathology.
November 2013 – February 2014: Recipient of a sabbatical leave at the Massey University (New Zealand) for a collaboration project on tuberculosis in sea lions.
June 11th to 25th 2014: Recipient of a sabbatical leave at Kimron Veterinary Institute of Tel Aviv (Israel).
July 14th to August 9th 2014: Recipient of a sabbatical leave at Instituto Universitario de Sanidad Animal y Seguridad Alimentaria dell’Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Las Palmas (Spain).
