Veterinary Medicine degree in 1991 and Ph.D. in comparative pathology in 1994. From 1995 to 1997 (J. Fulbright travel scholarship) post-doctoral fellow at UC Davis, CA, U.S.A. developing research on feline normal intestinal immune system and LGL leukemia-lymphoma. In 2007, part of this work attained the C.L. Davis Foundation Journal award with the publication “Feline large granular lymphocyte (LGL) lymphoma with secondary leukemia: primary intestinal origin with predominance of a CD3/CD8alpha-alpha phenotype.”
In 1998, assistant professor at the University of Padua, Italy and in 2000 became the first Italian pathologist to obtain the European College of Veterinary Pathology certification by exam. Since 2001, director of the first Italian veterinary pathology residency training center at the University of Milano, Italy that has diplomated over 30 veterinary pathologists and dermatologs. From 2005, Associate Professor at the University of Milan where with responsability of undergraduate courses related to various fields of general pathology, comparative pathology, special pathology and dermatopathology to students of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology Schools. In 2017 Over the years, held positions as member and chair of the ECVP exam committee, council member and ECVP and ISVD and member and currently, chair of the ECVP application’s committee. Particpated to the Editorial board of Veterinary Pathology and of Case reports in Veterinary Medicine. In 2017 attained the C.L. Davis Foundation Journal award with the publication "Cutaneous Lymphoma at Injection Sites: Pathological,
Immunophenotypical, and Molecular Characterization in 17 Cats". Author or coauthor of over 70 scientific publications indexed in PubMed.
