- “Agrégation de l’Enseignement Supérieur en Sciences Vétérinaires” (equivalent to PhD, University of Liège, 1997) for research work realized in the unit of Animal Nutrition (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine) concerning the factors influencing meat quality of Belgian Blue bulls

- Full Professor at ULiège / Fac. Vet. Medicine / Dept Food Science / Unit Food Technology. Teaching activities concern food technology, in particular the technology of food from animal origin
- Vice-President of research unit FARAH / SAP (Center for Applied Research on Animal and Health / Domain : Sustainable Animal Production). Research activities concern: 1) influence of animal production factors on meat quality ; 2) food conservability, in particular meat conservability.

- Member of the board of the Belgian Association for Meat Science and Technology (vice-president from 2003 to 2007, president from 2007 to 2011, vice-president from 2011 to 2015)
- Member of the board of the Walloon competitiveness cluster WagrALIM since 2007
- Funding member of the Belgian Nutrition Society (launched in 2009)
- Member of the Scientific Committee of the Belgian Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain since 2013
