EBVS® European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery

After qualifying from Glasgow University in 1998, Steve spent 4 ½ years in small animal, first opinion practice before completing a Small Animal Surgery residency at the University of Liverpool. Steve is a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons and is a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopaedics). Since completing his residency, Steve has worked in Specialist private practice for over 10 years as well as delivering training in small animal orthopaedics to the undergraduate trainee vets The University of Nottingham, one of the UK’s newest veterinary schools. Steve helped develop and is now a co-clinical director of Manchester Veterinary Specialists, a Specialist orthopaedic referral centre, one of the newest of its kind in the UK and part of CVS Referrals.

Steve enjoys all aspects of small animal orthopaedics but has a keen interest in management of cranial cruciate ligament rupture by tibial plateau levelling osteotomy (TPLO), fracture repair, arthroscopy and total hip replacement.
