Dr. Eichenberger graduated from the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich, Switzerland in 2007. Since 2019, Dr Eichenberger is an independent group leader (Biomedical Parasitology Group) at the Institute of Parasitology, University of Zurich, Switzerland. Next to a broad interest in diagnostic test development, and the production of novel research tools, his group is interested in the development of desperatively needed novel vaccines against helminths by exploring the parasite-host relationship. Besides, he is lecturer for Veterinary Parasitology at the Vetsuisse Faculty. Before, he was for 3 years at the Australian Institute of Tropical Health and Medicine / James Cook University in Australia, working as a postdoctoral research fellow on immunological aspects of the parasite-host relationship of helminth parasites, supervised by Prof Alex Loukas.

- 2012: DVM (Dr.med.vet.) from the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich, Switzerland on epidemiology and test development for bovine- and ovine cysticercoses.
