Prof Luís Madeira develops his career in four synchronous strands. He is a Psychiatrist, graduated in Medicine from the University of Lisbon in 2008, president-elect of Portuguese Society of Psychiatry that coordinates CUF Descobertas Hospital Department of Psychiatry. He holds a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Central Lancashire and a PhD in Medicine in the field of Psychiatry and Mental Health. He is Professor of Medical Ethics and Deontology and of Psychiatry at both the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon and the Faculty of Medicine of the Catholic University of Lisbon. He is part of the Portuguese Parliament as a Member of the National Committee of Medical Ethics. He is also a Psychotherapist with the Portuguese Society for Client-Centred Psychotherapy and Person-Centred Approach.
