Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgeon, Veterinary Specialists Scotland, Edinburgh, U.K. - deadline 13 April,2020

Our brand new, state-of-the-art hospital located just outside Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city, will be opening shortly, and we are looking to add an additional Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgeon to our team of specialists. This is an exciting opportunity to help establish and drive the development of this new referral service and to be a part of something special right from the start!

Veterinary Specialists, Scotland (VSS) is a newly established, multi-disciplinary referral centre that will be opening its doors this summer. The clinic premises have been completely refurbished and are equipped to allow you to practise Small Animal Orthopaedics at the highest standard. You will be joining well-established teams of specialists in other disciplines, including soft tissue surgery, canine and feline internal medicine, anaesthesia, and diagnostic imaging, as well as orthopaedics, and there are plans to add further specialties over the coming months.

We are now recruiting Surgery Diplomates who wish to, or are already focussing on orthopaedic surgery, but we are also happy to consider candidates who have successfully completed an approved residency programme in small animal surgery. The team’s core values are excellence in patient, client, colleague, and referring vet care, and we place a strong emphasis on team and collaborative working. We are looking for a surgeon who shares our ethos to help make VSS a supportive, stimulating, and enjoyable place to practise veterinary medicine and surgery to the highest standard.

As well as the opportunity to help shape the future of veterinary referral care in Scotland, we offer a competitive salary and generous benefits package, including private medical insurance, pension scheme, paid memberships, CPD allowance and leave, and discounts on a range of products and services.

Veterinary Specialists Scotland is located close to the City of Edinburgh, but also has excellent transport links to Glasgow. Edinburgh is a beautiful and vibrant city, famous for its festival and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While the cities have much to offer, for those who prefer the great outdoors, mountains, countryside and coastline are all within easy reach. Edinburgh is also a family-friendly place, which offers all the advantages of a big city, including fantastic schools and plenty of indoor and outdoor activities for kids.
