SMALL ANIMAL SURGERY
The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Oklahoma State University, invites applications for two faculty positions in small animal surgery. One faculty appointment is in small animal soft tissue surgery, and one appointment is in small animal orthopedic surgery. Alternatively, the department will hire two general surgeons who are willing to work in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
The department is seeking enthusiastic clinicians with a passion for teaching to join its team to provide instruction, consultation, and patient care at the Boren Veterinary Medical Hospital. Successful candidates will havethe opportunity to actively participate in one-on-one training of veterinary interns and students, aswell as work alongside colleagues to provide the highest standard of veterinary care.
The positions offer opportunities to develop innovative teaching programs in the classroom and clinical setting as well as participation in collaborative research/scholarship activities.
The teaching hospital is well-equipped to see a diverse caseload of soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurosurgical cases, including minimally invasive procedures. A state-of-the-art, fully integrated minimally invasive surgical suite is also under construction to complement the wide variety of existing equipment available.
A DVM degree or equivalent is required. Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS), or candidates qualified to take the ACVS/ECVS certification examination are welcomed to apply. Professional rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

These are full-time positions with an excellent benefits package, including a generous sign-on bonus, 4 weeks of vacation, start-up funding for clinical equipment, or research endeavors as well as office electronics. Funding support for conference (continuing education) travel is provided. Ability to do up to 4 weeks of consultation work outside our referral area is also included.
