University College Dublin (UCD) - PostDoc position (for level 1 or level 2) for a project ending in Dec 2022

Prof Wenxin Wang's group at University College Dublin (UCD) is offering a PostDoc position (for level 1 or level 2) for a project ending in Dec 2022.

Project: The DNA Delivery Engine (DDE) is a project consortium between academia and industry partners centred on the development of a disruptive gene therapy platform technology to treat genetic disorders using novel polymer-based delivery systems as an alternative to viral methods. Initially, the primary focus of this adaptive technology has been for the treatment of the rare skin fragility disorder, epidermolysis bullosa, and it will be extended to other genetic conditions such as cystic fibrosis. This post is to fulfil key deliverables of UCD as the academic research partner within the consortium, by generating new animal models and using them to test the efficacy and safety of novel gene therapy technologies. The successful candidate will work as part of a well-established and dynamic research team in the UCD Charles Institute of Dermatology.

Selection criteria:
PhD in biological, biomedical or veterinary science or related discipline (included pharmacology) with experience in rodent animal experimentation and transgenic mouse colony management, preferably with some experience in histology sample preparation and evaluation.

If you are interested, please apply through UCD website  (Ref 013021) - deadline 18th March 2021 (to be extended until 25th March). For informal queries please contact Dr Irene Lara-Saez by email
