Clinical instructor / residency position in Equine Internal Medicine, University of Zurich - deadline 20 March 2018

The Equine Department of the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich is offering a clinical instructor / residency position in Equine Internal Medicine starting July 1, 2018 or by special

The appointment includes clinical service in the specialty of Equine Internal Medicine and teaching of students on clinical rotations. Emergency duties include night and weekend shifts in all sections of the Equine Hospital (internal medicine, surgery, anesthesia). A training program in Equine Internal Medicine according to the ACVIM or ECEIM or within the Swiss Equine Practitioner (FVH) track is  offered and enrolment in one of the programs is a prerequisite for this appointment.  

Candidates will be selected according to the following criteria: Graduation in veterinary medicine, interest in clinical service in an academic environment, high degree of motivation, initiative and ability to work in a team and, importantly, very good knowledge of the German language (written and oral). A completed equine internship or equivalent experience and, if applicable, a completed Dr. med. vet. thesis are mandatory for enrolment in a ACVIM, ECEIM or FVH program.  

The annual salary is calculated according to the University of Zurich guidelines for junior clinicians / clinical instructors in training at the Vetsuisse Faculty. The candidate will be appointed for at least 2 years.
